How to practise
In the third trimester, honoring the last quiet of pregnancy; a tender threshold before everything changes can show up quietly or all at once. This guided meditation makes room for the feeling without turning it into a lesson you are meant to pass.
Whether birth is hours or days away, this is the closing of a chapter unlike any other. This practice is a gentle, culminating pause: a chance to honor the whole journey, to be present in the last quiet of pregnancy, and to stand at the threshold of everything that comes next with tenderness rather than fear.
Find a position that supports you (seated or lying down). Press play and let the guidance move at its own pace. There is no correct way to feel, and nothing to visualize on demand.
This episode is written for week 42. It fits best the very end of pregnancy, the last quiet stretch, though you can return whenever the week feels heavy or unfamiliar.
Each week in the series stands alone. Listeners often join at their current week and circle back later; the arc rewards continuity, but nothing here assumes you have been listening since week one.

Welcome to Week Forty-Two.
However close birth is now, you are in the final stretch of a chapter unlike any other you will live. The last quiet of being pregnant. The last days of carrying this small person entirely inside, just the two of you.
So today is a tender one. A pause to honor the whole journey you have made, to be present in this last quiet, and to stand gently at the threshold of everything that is about to change. Let's begin.
…
Let's begin by letting your body settle.
…
Find a position that supports you. Let the surface beneath you take your weight.
…
Let your eyes close, or rest them softly open.
…
Take one slow breath in.
…
And a long breath out.
…
Let's steady the breath together. In… one… … two… … three… … four…
…
And out, longer. Out… one… … two… … three… … four… … five… … six…
…
Again, in your own time.
…
Let the counting go.
…
Let yourself look back, gently, over the whole of this journey. The very beginning, before you knew. The first knowing, with all its joy and fear. The secret weeks, the tired weeks, the scans, the first movements. The body changing, the slow getting-to-know, the long final wait. You have carried every single day of it to arrive here.
…
That is an extraordinary thing. Not because you did it perfectly, but simply because you did it. Day after day, through everything it asked of you. You can let yourself feel the weight and the wonder of that.
…
If it feels right, rest a hand low on your belly, the way you may have many times across these weeks. This is one of the last stretches of carrying your baby just here, this close, only yours. Let yourself be present for it. There is nothing to do but be here, together, in the quiet.
…
And ahead of you is a threshold. Soon, in hours or in days, everything changes. You will meet the person you have been carrying all this time. It is the biggest of changes, and it is alright to feel everything about it at once: ready and not ready, longing and afraid, all of it.
…
You do not have to feel only one way. You only have to stand here, in this last quiet, breathing, and let it be what it is. You have everything you need to meet what comes next. You have been getting ready for it all along.
…
Now, three quiet truths. Let each one land in the body.
…
The first. I can honor this last quiet stretch.
…
Notice where you feel that, if anywhere.
…
The second. I have carried this whole journey to here.
…
Let it settle.
…
And the last. Whatever comes next, I am ready to meet it.
…
You do not have to be certain. Just let these be true.
…
Stay a little longer, breathing, here in the last quiet, just the two of you.
…
And when you are ready, begin to come back. Feel your weight. Feel your hands.
…
Let your breath rejoin your day.
…
Open your eyes slowly, if they were closed.
…
And carry yourself, and this whole journey, gently toward what comes next.
…
That is the end of this week's practice.
You are so close now. Whatever shape these final days take, your midwife and your care team are with you, and the people who love you are ready to meet this baby alongside you. You have come the whole way here. You do not have the last stretch to walk alone.
We will meet again on the other side, in the early days with your baby.
