How to practise

In the second trimester, marking the end of the second trimester; a threshold into the final stretch can show up quietly or all at once. This guided meditation makes room for the feeling without turning it into a lesson you are meant to pass.

As the second trimester ends, there is a natural turning point: the steadier middle behind you, the final season just ahead. This practice offers a quiet way to honor the chapter that is closing and to turn toward what comes next, without needing to feel fully ready for it.

Find a position that supports you (seated or lying down). Press play and let the guidance move at its own pace. There is no correct way to feel, and nothing to visualize on demand.

This episode is written for week 27. It fits best the transition from the second trimester into the third, though you can return whenever the week feels heavy or unfamiliar.

Each week in the series stands alone. Listeners often join at their current week and circle back later; the arc rewards continuity, but nothing here assumes you have been listening since week one.

Welcome to Week Twenty-Seven.

You are nearing the end of the second trimester, the calmer middle stretch. Ahead is the final season, the third trimester, with its own pace and its own feeling.

So today we pause at the threshold between the two. A moment to honor the chapter closing behind you, and to turn, gently, toward the one ahead, without needing to have it all figured out. Let's begin.

Let's begin by letting your body settle.

Find a position that supports you. Let the surface beneath you take your weight.

Let your eyes close, or rest them softly open.

Take one slow breath in.

And let it go.

Let's steady the breath together. In… one… … two… … three… … four…

And out, longer. Out… one… … two… … three… … four… … five… … six…

Again, in your own time.

Let the counting go.

Imagine standing in a doorway between two rooms. Behind you, the room you are leaving: the second trimester, the steadier middle. Ahead, the room you are about to enter: the final stretch.

Before you step through, turn and look back for a moment. The middle weeks held a lot. Scans and milestones, the first movements, the body changing, the slow getting-to-know. You walked all of it. Let yourself acknowledge that, quietly.

Now turn toward the doorway ahead. You do not have to know everything about what comes next. You do not have to feel fully ready. Nobody steps into the final stretch perfectly prepared, and that is alright. You will learn it as you go, the way you have learned every chapter so far.

You carry with you everything the earlier weeks taught you. How to wait. How to be kind to yourself. How to hold hope and worry side by side. You are not starting the next chapter empty-handed. You are stepping in with all of that already in your hands.

So when you are ready, in your own time, you can step gently through.

Now, three quiet truths. Let each one land in the body.

The first. I can close this chapter and turn toward the next.

Notice where you feel that, if anywhere.

The second. I do not have to be fully ready for the final stretch to meet it.

Let it settle.

And the last. I carry everything I have learned with me.

You do not have to be certain. Just let these be true.

Stay a little longer, breathing, here in the doorway.

And when you are ready, begin to come back. Feel your weight. Feel your hands.

Let your breath rejoin your day.

Open your eyes slowly, if they were closed.

And step gently into what comes next.

That is the end of this week's practice.

The final stretch has its own demands, and you do not have to face them alone. Your midwife will be alongside you through it, and the people who care about you can carry some of it with you. Reaching out, as always, is a strong thing to do.

We will meet again next week.
