How to practise
In the second trimester, meeting the flutters with wonder; inclusive of those not feeling them yet can show up quietly or all at once. This guided meditation makes room for the feeling without turning it into a lesson you are meant to pass.
Somewhere in these weeks, the small flutters often become clearer, the first felt contact in a connection that has been quietly growing. For others, movement is still faint or not yet noticeable, which is also completely normal and can simply reflect how things are positioned. This practice holds both: wonder for the movements you feel, and patience for the ones still to come.
Find a position that supports you (seated or lying down). Press play and let the guidance move at its own pace. There is no correct way to feel, and nothing to visualize on demand.
This episode is written for week 21. It fits best when movement becomes real, or while still waiting to feel it, though you can return whenever the week feels heavy or unfamiliar.
Each week in the series stands alone. Listeners often join at their current week and circle back later; the arc rewards continuity, but nothing here assumes you have been listening since week one.

Welcome to Week Twenty-One.
Around these weeks, the flutters often become clearer, those first unmistakable little movements. If you are starting to feel them, this is a quiet kind of wonder. And if you are not feeling much yet, that is genuinely normal too. How soon movement is noticeable varies a lot, and it does not mean anything is wrong.
So today we meet whatever is true for you, with wonder or with patience, and no pressure either way. Let's begin.
…
Let's begin by letting your body settle.
…
Find a position that supports you. Let the surface beneath you take your weight.
…
Let your eyes close, or rest them softly open.
…
Take one slow breath in.
…
And let it go.
…
Let's steady the breath together. In… one… … two… … three… … four…
…
And out, longer. Out… one… … two… … three… … four… … five… … six…
…
Again, in your own time.
…
Let the counting go.
…
If it feels comfortable, rest a hand low on your belly. Not to search, not to check. Just to be near, the way you might sit quietly beside someone you are getting to know.
…
If you have felt movement, you might remember it now. That first small flutter, like a question you were not sure you heard. The strange, quiet thrill of feeling, for the first time, that there is someone in there with you. You do not have to chase it. Just let the wonder of it be here.
…
And if you have not felt anything clearly yet, let that be okay. Movement that is faint, or not yet noticeable, is not movement that is missing. Some people feel it later, for reasons as simple as how things are positioned. You are not behind. You are exactly where you are.
…
Either way, something between you is becoming real, in its own time. There is nothing to rush and nothing to force. Just a quiet getting-to-know, one moment at a time.
…
Now, three quiet truths. Let each one land in the body.
…
The first. Whatever I feel, or do not feel yet, is okay.
…
Notice where you feel that, if anywhere.
…
The second. I can meet these moments with wonder, not pressure.
…
Let it settle.
…
And the last. Something between us is becoming real in its own time.
…
You do not have to be certain. Just let these be true.
…
Stay a little longer, breathing, near and unhurried.
…
And when you are ready, begin to come back. Feel your weight. Feel your hands.
…
Let your breath rejoin your day.
…
Open your eyes slowly, if they were closed.
…
And carry this wonder, or this patience, gently with you.
…
That is the end of this week's practice.
If you are not feeling much movement yet and it makes you anxious, please know it is common at this stage and often comes down to small things like positioning. Your midwife is always there to reassure you whenever you would like. You never have to sit with a worry alone.
We will meet again next week.
